The California Association of Work Experience Educators will provide a high-quality career readiness education environment that enables students to become responsible citizens! We are committed to motivating students in grades TK-14 in California by inspiring them to think critically, collaborate, and communicate successfully, develop soft skills, solve problems efficiently, and incorporate technology to enrich their lives.
In 1963-1964, groups of Work Experience Educators in the northern and southern regions of the state began to organize a professional association. These groups merged in 1965 to form CAWEE and held their first state convention in May 1965.
The California Association of Work Experience Educators (CAWEE) was formed to establish and maintain guidelines for professional conduct, to provide in-service training opportunities, and to ensure that Work Experience Educators understand labor laws and regulations regarding youth employment.

What a nice surprise to join CAWEE and have hundreds of new colleagues who share my passion in WEE. I will enjoy collaborating and sharing learning strategies and discovering new teaching tools.
Finally… a place for Classified staff to find guidance, suggestions, and answers to my questions!
The annual Conference is my chance to meet other WEE teachers, coordinators, and administrators in my field.
I found the CAWEE Annual Conference to be educational, rewarding and valuable. I plan to attend every year.
After taking the CAWEE Online Work Permit Course I feel much more confident issuing work permits.
I enjoyed taking the CAWEE Online Work Permit Course and discovering how much I knew about child labor laws from the Assessment Test.
My CAWEE Online Work Permit Course registration fee met all the criteria to be reimbursed by CSEA! I provided proof of the registration fee paid and my Certificate of Completion and I received a check in the mail from my local CSEA Chapter.
